Jonathan has worked in communications and public relations for over 30 years. His primary focus has always been on issue and crisis management, providing strategic advice and support to community institutions, from universities to hospitals and schools, as well as many private sector clients.
Building on his experience as a Senior Advisor at Canada Post then as President of Phone Market, a wholly owned subsidiary of Provigo Inc, Jonathan created his own communications and strategic planning consultancy firm in 1990. Jonathan’s firm soon after merged with Columbia Communications where he headed many large-scale, public and private sector communications mandates that continued after Columbia was purchased by Cossette Communications in 2003, and he became Vice President and General Manager of Optimum Public Relations, a Cossette subsidiary. Jonathan created JGA Strategic Relations in April of 2007 to focus increasingly on client service and mandates he passionately cared about.
Jonathan has always been active in many volunteer activities and has contributed as a Board Member to many organizations. He led a successful Supreme Court challenge on access to English schools on behalf of the Quebec Association of Independent Schools, served on the Board of Governors of Selwyn House School for nine years where he received the Speirs Medal, the school’s most prestigious award, and also served on the Board of Stanstead College School. He is currently a Board Member of CAIS (Canadian Accredited Independent Schools), the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and has sat on the Board of the Canadian Institute of Jewish Affairs (Quebec) for close to a decade.
Jonathan Goldbloom is bilingual and received his education at Harvard (Honours B.A.), Carleton University (M.A.) and at the University of Western Ontario (M.B.A.).
